About the Role:

We are looking for a Product Design Intern to collaborate with our team of product managers and developer to assist in the creation of intuitive and engaging digital experiences. You will get hands-on experience conducting user research and usability testing and be an advocate for innovative ideation to our product design. 

The ideal candidate has a hunger for creative and intuitive design trends and emerging technologies dedicated to our target audience. We’re looking for an optimistic self-starter with a passion for product design and the latest trends in the healthcare/medical device industry. This is a one-year PAID full-time on-site position at our office located in Cerritos, CA reporting to the Manager, Software Integrations & Development. 

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback. 

  • Ability to create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes based on research findings. 

  • Collaborate with team members to translate user needs and business goals into effective design solutions. 

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to improve user experiences. 

  • Help create and maintain design documentation, style guides, and design systems. 

  • Assist in conducting competitive analysis and staying updated with industry trends and best practices. 

  • Provide support in preparing presentations and design mock-ups for stakeholders. 

  • Learn and apply UX/UI design principles and methodologies to real-world projects. 


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field. 

  • A portfolio showcasing design projects or coursework (required)

  • Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles and methodologies. 

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams.

  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics. 

  • Basic knowledge of user research methods and usability testing. 

  • Enthusiastic about learning and applying new skills in a practical setting. 


Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with prototyping tools and techniques. 

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic front-end development principles. 

  • Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices. 

  • Experience with design systems and style guides. 

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and how it informs design decisions.
