Primary Female Art Teacher | Teach in Doha

My client is a well established school in Doha, Qatar which is looking for experienced Primary Art Teacher to join for next academic year. The school has about 1500 female students which are mainly from Arabic backgrounds, where English is not the first language. The students are very well behaved and the school is well resourced.

The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching primary Artto students in an Islamic faith school delivering the UK national curriculum. 

Requirements to Apply

  1. B.Ed in Primary Education with Art specialism
  2. Degree in Art & Design with a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS
  3. Ideally 2 years experience although some STRONG NQT's will be considered
  4. Western trained
  5. A HIGH command of written and spoken English
  6. Being able to speak Arabic is a bonus
  7. Must be up to date with modern pedagogy

You should be experienced in teaching a wide variety of sports, yet be culturally aware of the requirements in teaching Islamic students a variety of sports.  This is an up and coming school with a great reputation in the region. It is accredited by QNSA.  The school delivers the UK national curriculum with Islamic values and ethos and is a popular choice amongst parents in Qatar that want their children to have a modern education coupled with keeping the values of Islam. Salary Package

  1. TAX FREE salary up to 12,000 QAR per month
  2. FREE Furnished apartment, either one bedroom or two depending on the seniority of the position.

Primary Art Teacher Main Duties

  1. Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history,
  2. Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school
  3. Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
  4. Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
  5. Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting
  6. Understand a variety of “masters” techniques
  7. Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art
  8. Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique
  9. Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
  10. Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment
  11. Organise storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection
  12. Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports
  13. Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records
  14. Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community
  15. May sponsor exhibits from outside the school
  16. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities
  17. Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress
  18. Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs, such as after school art club
  19. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 9000 up to 12000   QAR (Qatar Riyal)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
