Full-time employee - Remote
Salary: $90,000 - $115,000

Scope of Work:
Capio Group is looking for an experienced Front End Web Developer/Engineer to work as part of a team to successfully develop and implement a solution that will enable the client to collect, organize, track, monitor, analyze, and aggregate the clients program data and conduct business operations electronically and effectively to implement current and future statutory mandates. The Front End Web Developer/Engineer will be responsible for all user-facing aspects of the system and collaborating with the Dev Team in improving usability, user experience, and user adoption and engagement for the clients system. 
The Front End Web Developer/Engineer will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:
  • Work as part of an Agile development team.
  • Collaborate with the clients team to improve usability, user experience, and user adoption and engagement.
  • Responsible for conducting interaction design.
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture.
  • Lead participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, and other forms of requirement’s discovery.
  • Produce system maps, user scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications.
  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visually.
  • Plan and facilitate collaborative critiques and analysis and synthesis working sessions. 
  • Work with development teams to understand product requirements.
  • Ensure design specifications are delivered. 
  • Design and develop primarily internet/web pages and application(s).
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate intuitive user interfaces that consist of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing.
  • Gather feedback about concepts, prototypes and finished products and improve interfaces and the user experience as needed from research and testing.
  • Coordinate with clients Dev Team to test, and document UI/UX defects or issues during testing.
  • Ensure interface design and user experience requirements are documented, clear and feasible with the BSA.
  • Design for Section 508 and departmental accessibility requirements and design and implement interfaces that are usable by a wide variety of people who have very different abilities and backgrounds. 
  • Translate larger strategic, policy, program and service requirements into clear requirements and compelling experiences. 
  • Create concepts for what future experiences may work like and illustrate potential scenarios of use in various visual and digital forms.
  • Use a mix of text, images, data, sound, animation, and other effects to create interactive communication products as part of a product development team.
  • Utilize multimedia software to create design concepts.
  • Create wireframes and interface mock-ups.
  • Monitor design performance and ensure compliance with guidelines. 
  • Act as a technical guide and consultant on user experience and interface design.
  • Provide both the clients team updates to the interface design requirements, design, implementation, and testing on a regular basis including status, slippages, or roadblocks.
  • Identify, analyze, and present on the clients UI/UX related technical aspects of risks, issues, and solutions in all clients milestones.
  • Work closely with the Project Core Team to understand the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, constraints, testing, and implementation.
  • Ensure timely completion and quality of User Agreement deliverables.
  • Provide a Monthly Activity Report detailing all activities and deliverables worked on and/or completed by the end of the month to the clients CM and PM.
  • In collaboration with the PM, review and provide feedback to the clients Project Schedule (Phase III, IV and maintenance) and participate in planning to meet project milestones.
Mandatory Experience:
  1. Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in front end web development tools, techniques and methods for user-facing interfaces.
  2. Must have a minimum of five (5) years working as a programmer/analyst in a .NET environment.
  3. Must have minimum of four (4) years’ experience with the following:
    a) Front end web development and frontend configuration capabilities for SaaS technologies using modern techniques and frameworks (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, CSS frameworks like Bootstrap). 
    b) Performing JavaScript development using modern standards, including strict mode compliance, modularization techniques and tools, and frameworks and libraries (e.g., jQuery); 
    c) Developing and consuming web-based RESTful APIs; 
    d) Using version control systems (e.g., Git); 
    e) Creating web layouts from static images.
  4. Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience developing web application UX/UI to meet compliance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at a minimum.
  5. Must possess a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A copy of the degree must be provided upon request.
  6. Must provide two (2) current references from previous engagements with other companies or government entities of similar size, scope, and type of service.
Desirable Experience:
  1. Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of two (2) years’ of experience working as part of an Agile team.
