What You'll Be Doing: The Actuarial Analyst will inform decision making across the company and for our clients, by conducting analyses and developing actionable insights. The Actuarial Analyst will have the opportunity to shape team culture and operating norms at a high-growth organization. Collaboration Opportunities: The Actuarial Analyst, collaborates with various functional areas across Evolent including Operations, Clinical, Finance, and Analytics What You Will Be Doing: Perform data analyses and financial projections that impact foundational pricing and risk assumptions. Perform financial analyses to support health plan and provider organization partners. Develop actuarial models for use across multiple teams and projects. Streamline processes to improve efficiency of key deliverables. Collaborate with various functional areas across Evolent including Operations, Clinical, Finance, and Analytics Communicate actuarial concepts and concerns within actuarial department. Support ad hoc analyses to support data-driven insights to answer specific business questions that arise from company leadership and partners. Play a key role in Evolent's partnerships to change the way healthcare is delivered. Qualifications Required and Preferred: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Math, Economics or related degree- Required. Currently on an Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of one actuarial exam- Required. Strong technical skills required in Microsoft Office- Required. Reliable, takes initiative, operates in ambiguity, and manages competing deadlines- Required. Desires to work on challenging projects for a high growth organization- Required. Works collaboratively and pitches in for the greater good of the team- Required. Is detail-oriented and owns their results- Required. + Past actuarial experience and/or internship- Preferred. + Experience with financial forecasting- Preferred. + Familiarity or experience with medical/pharmacy claims- Preferred. + Familiarity with PowerQuery/BI/VBA- Preferred. + Ability to read and write SQL and/or SAS code- Preferred. Technical Requirements: We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
